The folks at my local dog boutique(Bark and Browse), were supposed to order a Furminator for me so I can Groom Eli at home. They ordered an imitation, and sent it back, and told me it had a razor along with the teeth of the comb. A similar product at a web retailer is a blade with teeth. I want to thin the undercoat. What is the best tool for the job? Does a Furminator really have a razor blade? Is it safe to use? E's former groomer used one on him, and he never shed at all between grooms.
I have other tools(slicker brush, shedding blade), but they don't remove enough hair.
Any suggestions?
