Looking for really good but , inexpensive vitamins for Mast cell cancer

Ick! My dog has had 3 MCT sugeries over the last 2yrs. or so. I have him on many supplements, and so far so good. The last few months have been good no new bumps.;)

I have been using Dr. Bob Goldstein's Chinese herbal formula , but it has been coming out of our savings account(I'm on disability and husband is self imployed and has lost client's, plus he drives 2hrs. a day back and forth to work) and we can no longer afford the herbs they have given us. Both are called BHI- anti-inflammation(homeopathic liquid) and a powder called Lymph-K, Those two product's are almost 4200 a month!

They won't tell ,e what is in it. Does anybody know?'ve tried to find out so I can make up my own version, they won't tell me!

I use human product's from online vitamin stores, because they tend to cost less, and he and I take almost the same thing.

I'm scared to stop those herbs, becaue he has been doing so good, but I have too. Hoping someone would know what could replace them.

I figure it's cleansing his lymph system and reducing inflammation.

    I use Quercetin/bromelain, IP-6,maitake D-Fraction,Ester_c,Co-Q-10,Pycnogenol,antioxident w/green tea,NC,gRAPE SEED,tUMERIC,sPIRULINA,vIT.eW/SELENIUM, AND ZINC.

USE dR. hARVEY'S PRE-MIX W/eVO 95% CANNED FOOD (i STILL WILL FOLLOW dR. gOLDSTEINS DIET).

jUST TRYING TO FIND OUT THOSE. lYMPH PRODUCT'S

I want to try to help you with your problem. First, I would suggest you go to this website which might get you a consultation with Dr. Goldstein.

    http://www.earthanimal.com/acatalog/Nutritional_Consultation_with_Dr_Bob_Goldstein.html

Read the information, fill out the form, and let's take it from there. Also, take a look at http://www.healingcenterforanimals.com/question.php  this is where you can also ask Dr. Bob a direct question and, quite frankly, maybe plead your case for some help http://www.healingcenterforanimals.com/ on the bottom of this page is a telephone # 203-227-4943 it goes to Healing Center For Animals which is connected to Dr. Bob and see if you can't elicit some help.It doesn't hurt to try.

I'm rooting for you, give it a good effort.

    Callofthedog,

Thanks for your response, but I've done that that's how I got the diert plan and supplement's. I just can't affprd them anymore, and thry won't tell me what's in them.

i found 2 more bumps today, praying they are benign.

I called the healing center, the receptionist hates when I call I can hear it in her voice, she already said I ask al ot or too many questions.

i said i couldn't afford it anymore, and if Dr.  Bob had any suggestions.

we'll see if she gets back to me or not, sometimes she doesn't.

Right now, I just want him to be well.

    Thanks again

Re: Looking for really good but , inexpensive vitamins for Mast cell cancer

My dog has a tumor in her mouth, on her upper jaw.  The vet told me it was a fast spreading one and they would have to take the upper jaw out and she would have to have chemo.   Her quality of life would have been terrible and he said she would only live between 5 and 8 months. I decided to take care of it myself naturally. I did allot of researching and talked to a holistic vet. I don't know about Bob Goldstein;s formula, but what I did is first: I have always feed my setter only natural dog food. I also gave her a liquid whole food supplement which is a phytomutrient-rice blend of aloe vera and nine sea vegetables. I give her one ounce a day. I started adding  a capsule of Shark Cartilage (750 mg) brand- All Nature and a capsules of Pau d" Arco (545 mg) brand-natures way. I got both supplements from the website: www.ihealthtree.com. In may of this year it will be one year since Kelly got the tumor, and her tumor looks good, it hasn't grown at all, she has not gotten any more, she is healthy, eats, runs, plays like she always has. When she eats hard food, bones etc she has no discomfort at all. It does not hurt her.  I don't know if this can help your dog, but you can read about the supplements and decide for yourself.  The supplements didn't cost me that much. And the main thing is that they are working.  The liquid whole food supplement my husband and dogs take if your interested just let me know and I can tell you about that also.

Re: Looking for really good but , inexpensive vitamins for Mast cell cancer

Hi, so sorry to hear of your dog's condition, those mast cells can be very nasty.

Chinese herbs are very powerful, and if he is formulating them himself and prescribing them, he may not be legally bound to disclose the ingredients; though the ethics of that attitude are debatable. The ingredients of his nutritional supplements can be found here: http://www.healingcenterforanimals.com/productGuide.php.

Honestly I know very little about Chinese herbs (I had a vet friend prescribe them for my own cat!), but I have heard many good things about "power mushrooms" from the experts, including Dr. Steve Marsden (who teaches it!). There's also some good information on holistic cancer care in our ONP library.

BHI is not exactly homeopathy, it's an offshoot called homotoxicology. You can't make your own, but fortunately a lot of their products are readily available online including BHI Inflammation. A bottle of 100 tablets is about $10. Take a 1-ounce dropper bottle with 80% water and 20% vodka (just as a preservative!), add one tablet, shake well, and give in the same manner you were before to your dog. The same company (Heel) makes a lymph drainage-detox product called Lymphomyosot, also available online for about $10 in a liquid; add 10 drops to your dropper bottle and you're all set. Lymphomyosot is a very gentle detoxifier, but do watch for reactions and changes in the lumps.

The other great herbal combination, well-known for its use in treating all kinds of tumors, is Essiac tea, also called Ojibwa tea. ONP has it in tincture, which has several advantages: it doesn't take special equipment and 2 days to make; it doesn't spoil; and you give a lot less volume than with the tea.

Other than that, you're on the right track with antioxidants; Omega-3 fatty acids are also good for the immune system.

I hope this helps! I wish you the best!

    Dr. Jean,

    Thank you for the info.

i was using the heel Inflammation, but just gave the tabltes straight. I saw the Lymphomyosot, but there were so many I wasn't sure which one to get. I hear the main ingredient is Echinecea.

I'm on diasabiltiy and my husband has been out of work, and evn though the product's are inexpensive (these that we are talking about) the s&h makes it unaffordable for me.

The mushroom products are good but so exspensive, I've cut back my medical care for my dog, and I just have no were else to cut back, until my husband statrs working again, supplement's have to be scaled back.

I'm trying to decide what to keep, on decease on dose.

My other issue now is fleas and ticks. I know Dr. Bob say's they don't cause MCT, but it stands to reason, that if my dog has too much histamine in his body, bug bites will release more.

I'm using a neem product from you guy's, but i still find tick s and fleas, and sometimes I have no idea how long they have been on him.

I'm looking for something natural to ue in the yard, D. earth, neotodes, neem, something.

I don't want to resort to Frontline, but I have to weigh the chemicals against the possiblr histamine increase ( and maybe cancer increase) of MCT from the bites.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for the web site, when I went to the regular healing center for animals site it told the products, but not the ingredient's I will look now.

thanks again, I really like this new blog, and your poduct's and staff.:)Smile

By the way when I typed in the website product guide, all I got was your post!

Re: Looking for really good but , inexpensive vitamins for Mast cell cancer

Thanks for your help. i went to the site that has the lymphomyosot, and they have several different ones, and were more expensive.

We are worse off financialy, my husband hasn't worked since jan., I'm on disability and now max isn't eating and has a swollen lymph node and salivary gland.

at this point we can't even afford test's to find out what is wrong. I'm really afraid the cancer is back.

he's on no supplements because he won't eat but a bit or two here and there.

I have the heel Inflammation tabs but I can't crush them, I put it in his jowls and he spits it out.

I can hardly get him to take the pain med's he is on, I have to pill him, and now he run's away when he see's me coming w/something.

    I'm at my wit's end.

I love him so much, but don't know what to do.

any suggestions? i have just a few droppers left of the Blood and system cleanser, but I can't afford to buy anything, with the product cost, plus s&h it's just too much.

he will no longer eat Dr. Harveys canine health, or the ONP salmon oil.

Dr.Goldstein, won't give me any kind of break on the price. i went through all that w/them before right after his MCT surgery. It took 2 mos. for the receptionist to tell me I could save money by buying the chinese herbs loose!

I certainly can't affor that now at all, were aer 2 mos. from losing our home if my husband doesn't get work. we have bills to pay, we can't afford test's and suplement's.

    But I can't give up.

i have an unused pet vac ,and a petipaw that I used 2 times, that I have on craigs list, trying to get a fund for tests for Max.

    Please any suggestons?

i have nothing else to sell. I have a few bottles of cleasning gel from tuscany that I have on craigs list. too. That's it.

    Thanks,

    claudia

Re: Looking for really good but , inexpensive vitamins for Mast cell cancer

    Claudia,

I am so sorry to hear of all your troubles. My husband hasn't worked in months, either. Have you contacted your mortgage company to ask for a forebearance? They can lower your payments for a period of time, and review your situation when that time is up. Sometimes they will completely restructure your loan. Also, you can change your withholdings on your taxes to help bring in a bit more cash. If you have any gold or silver jewelry, you can often sell it at a jeweler who sends the material to a refinery. Just be sure that you know what the spot prices of the metals are before you go, so you get a fair price. Any sterling silver ware is also sellable. I have done this on several occassions, and have aways walked away with several hundred dollars. Also, contact your credit card companies, and see what sort of hardship programs they have. Be sure your husband has applied for unemployment benefits, and it may behoove you to apply for foodstamps as well. Times are hard, and we must do some of these things.  Also, check out a website: www.angelfoodministries.org. This is a group that provides "grocery relief" to all people. They have a monthly menu that feeds a family of 4 for a week for $30. You can go online, look at this month's menu, and look for a distribution center near you. You have to register, then pick up your items on the delivery date. They also offer other items at a greatly discounted rate.

As for Max. You may be able to locate a publication called "animal wellness". I believe the December issue delt with pets and cancer, and talked about enticing them to eat. Favorite foods and treats are a must. They also suggested cooking foods in a crockpot, believing the scent of the food cooking all day would enitice the pet to eat. I would give him anything he wants to eat. That's the most important. Peanut butter, salmon or tuna from a can, eggs, cheese, yogurt. Who cares if he will eat it. Also, if your town is like any other, then there is a Chinese grocery somewhere. They may have some herbs that you can use at a resonable price. Also, ONP products are more economical, and most are eligable for free shipping.

I wish you the best of everything. Keep in touch.

Hah!  The receptionist hates everyone who calls, it means she has to do some work.  Half of the time, she is out doing personal errands rather than working.  I seriously doubt she even gives him his messages and I think she makes up answers to give out because she doesn't want to do any work.  I'm surprised she even has a job after how poorly she treats the clients.  She tells everyone they ask too many questions, not just you.  I have heard from several people that they have been told this.

You are correct, they do not tell anyone what is in their products because most of their products can be bought some place else & they want to keep all the money for themselves.  For this business, it's all about the money, not the animals.  BTW, they also own Earth Animal.

I guess you are only as good as the staff you hire to represent you... now that should tell you something without really having to say anything.
