The two tuckered felines are Keebler (orange & white) and Gus (gray tiger). Gus was a kitten who had been dumped in our neighborhood, Keebler extended the paw of friendship to him and raised him to be a fine cat and outstanding hunter. They are still best buddies and often share the window bed, especially when it's cold.

Mozart and Thorn are two fabulous boys I adopted from a shelter after my two older babies passed away from old age. They love looking out the back door watching the birds! Thorn is the little one and loves to chase his tail, while Mozart is long and slender and his favorite thing to do is sit on top of the kitchen cabinets! Mozart and Thorn will be two this fall and are very active and very friendly boys!

Sassy

This is Sassy, the baby of the family. He is just over a year old, and is half Siamese. His mother is a white long-haired domestic that got out of the house one day. He is gentle and sweet, but he also has his whiney, get-into-trouble, pick a fight side. He's very friendly, and loves everybody. It doesn't matter who you are; he has to greet you at the door when you come in because you are a new set of hands that can touch him. He loves to be played with and petted, but don't pick him up unless he asks you to! This is everybody's favorite picture of him. It shows his personality perfectly. We liked it so much, it is now on our desktop, and framed at least twice somewhere in the house. I also plan on making a cross stitch pattern from it.

This is Phebe Anne, our $70 impulse purchase on the way home from Walmart. My mom (Phebe's registered owner) looked at her and said, "Oh, look, this one plays." And boy does she ever! If she's not sleeping, she's running or jumping on something. She loves to play. She's also very sweet, but only on her terms. She was an outside cat found at a farm with her siblings, and was not used to being held or touched. After working with her for over a year, we are now able to pick her up and pet her at will. But only if she's not busy playing. [H] Phebe is our little star. She's beautiful, and she knows it. She actually poses for the camera. Well, all of our cats pose, but she does especially. Her head perks up when the camera is trained on her, and sometimes she'll make a funny gesture to amuse us. Here, she is peeking out from under the Christmas tree. I had put it up a few days ahead of time to get the cats used to it before I decorated it, and they took to it just fine. I am happy to report that we have not had a fallen tree incident yet, though we did find a few gifts that needed re-wrapping!

This is Mr. Kitty. I found him at a rest area in Florida when I was still driving a truck. I had stopped to get something to drink and stretch. When I approached the main building, he poked his head out from under the bushes, and sat directly in my way so that I couldn't pass by without saying hello. I noticed at that time that he had some issues with his right eye; it was swollen and ulcerated. When I returned, he followed me all the way to my truck, so I fed him some fresh tuna and water, and put him in the truck to see how he would react. He took to it instantly, and so I decided to keep him. He rode on my lap for nearly 3 days before he was comfortable enough to explore the truck and take care of "business". When I got home, I immediately scheduled him for a vet visit, and after that, for surgery. He only has one eye now, but he's happy and healthy, and loves to be wherever Mommy is--until Daddy gets home. Then he wants nothing to do with me. My husband still drives, and is gone most of the time. This is my favorite picture of Mr. Kitty. It turned out so well, I had it framed to remind me of the day we met.
